Oliver S. Delery, Jr.

A 1977 graduate of Tulane’s School of Engineering with a degree in Civil Engineering, Mr. Delery is currently the Technical Resources Manager US for Forterra & Precast, previously Hanson Pipe & Precast, Inc.  Forterra is an international building materials company and one of the world’s largest producers of construction aggregates, concrete gravity and pressure pipe and precast concrete. Hanson’s New Orleans facility is the former New Orleans Cement Products Co., Inc., founded by Mr. Delery’s grandfather, Claude J. Kelly.

In 1989, Delery was elected Chairman of the Board of the American Concrete Pipe Association. He has served that organization as Chairman of the Technical Committee and currently holds the chairmanship of its Government Relations Committee. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and has served as President of the New Orleans Chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association.

In May of 2000, ASTM Committee C-13 on Concrete Pipe honored Mr. Delery with its Col. Robert R. Litehiser Award in recognition for his service to that committee. He has served as a member of ASTM since 1984 and is currently the Vice-Chairman of Committee C-13. While an undergraduate at Tulane, he received the Tompkins Award in Civil Engineering, the Robert Award from the School of Engineering and the University’s Stibbs Award. Civically, he has held the positions of President and Chairman of the Board of the Sugar Bowl. He also serves on the Mayor’s Mardi Gras Advisory Committee. He is married to the former Susan Fromherz and they have two children, Oliver III and Charlotte.
