Every spring, undergraduate students are recognized for their leadership and academic contributions to the department. The following awards are given at an event following Practice School presentations:
- AIChE Activity Award - for outstanding contributions to the profession (chosen by student chapter)
- AIChE Senior Scholarship Award - awarded to the senior with the highest average
- Francis M Taylor Award - awarded to a senior for outstanding citizenship based upon professional attitudes and accomplishments, ability to interact with colleagues and faculty, and positive contributions to departmental and university programs (chosen by faculty)
- American Institute of Chemists Student Award - awarded to outstanding senior for having demonstrated leadership ability, character, high scholastic standing and potential for advancement in their chosen profession (chosen by faculty)
- AIChE Junior Scholarship Award - awarded to the junior with the highest scholastic average during their freshman and sophomore years
- Randall K. Nichols Award - awarded to the junior who, according to the dean and faculty, has special talents; awarded to two students who have completed the second semester of the junior year (awarded by faculty)
- Chevron Undergraduate Award - awarded to the two students who have completed second semester of the junior year and have the highest scholastic average
- Student Practice Award - awarded to the best Practice School group (chosen by faculty)
- R.V. Bailey Teacher of the Year Award - awarded to an outstanding professor (chosen by students)
- Outstanding Teaching Assistant - awarded to an outstanding teaching assistant (chosen by students)
