Giving

The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at Tulane University (TU) is a powerhouse in research, education, and outreach. Our faculty excel in pedagogy, delivering world-class STEM education through initiatives like TIDES, CELT, TIERA, and individualized mentoring. TU and SSE uniquely provide students with opportunities to develop civic engagement and leadership skills through the Center for Public Service and experiential learning.

The TU Strategy for Tomorrow outlines our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. SSE is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary research and education, with well-established hubs like the Brain Institute, the ByWater Institute, and the Energy Institute, and is committed to expanding engineering. This 1,000-day plan recognizes and aims to sustain these strengths and outlines six new clusters to address the world's grand challenges.

Impact Real Change!

Help the School of Science and Engineering achieve the new dean’s 1,000 Day Vision where we will set out to answer the following three questions:

1) What new clusters of research excellence are strategically important for us?

2) How can we teach AI to all Tulane University students: from AI literacy to AI engineering?

3) How can we make undergraduate research a differentiator for the majority of SSE first-year students?

To answer these questions and enact this ambitious agenda, we will need to build out strong support structures to enable this important work. Alumni can play a large role here. We will continue to rely on the strength of our alumni base and support as we continue to fund the formation of clusters of excellence around our six priority areas:

  1. Resilient Habitats and Communities
  2. Space Science and Engineering
  3. Cognitive Cyber Nexus
  4. Precision Health Diagnostics and Therapeutics
  5. AI for All
  6. Making Undergraduate Research A Differentiator for the Majority of SSE Students.

Support SSE’s future, today.

The 1,000 Day Vision is based on a start date of January 6, 2025, and an end date of October 3, 2027. We would be thrilled to have your continued support along the way as we make these bold advances toward SSE’s future.
