Applying for Graduation
All students intending to participate in Commencement exercises must complete their application for graduation by April 8, 2026, to have their names published in the Commencement program. The graduation application link can be accessed through the student tab of the Gibson online portal. If you do not see this link, please contact your academic advisor or program director. Students will receive a confirmation email once their application has been submitted through the Gibson portal. Students can also confirm submission of their graduation application on their degree audit. Questions regarding graduation applications can be submitted through the Registrar Support portal.
Ticketing for Unified Commencement Only- Tickets are NOT required for the SSE Commencement Ceremony
Tickets will be required for everyone (graduates and guests) to enter the Caesars Superdome and student lineup areas. Graduates will receive an email mid-April from TUgrad@tulane.edu with the subject line “Register Now for the 2026 Tulane Unified Commencement Ceremony” containing instructions to register and retrieve Unified Commencement tickets via Tassel. Once graduates register, they are able to print tickets and/or send them to guests’ email addresses.
Graduates will receive a separate graduate ticket from their guest tickets.
Each graduate will receive up to 20 guest tickets (not including the graduate’s ticket).
All guests 2 years and older must have their own ticket.
Graduates can send all tickets to the same email address(es), but the tickets will arrive in individual emails.
Important Note:
The University's Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for school-based diploma ceremonies. Approved bags are as follows:
· Clear totes or bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 6".
· Small, non-clear clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
· Plastic, resealable storage bags no larger than one (1) gallon.
Graduate Hooding and Recognition Ceremony
Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM
Location: Devlin Fieldhouse/Fogelman Arena
This ceremony celebrates students who have achieved PhD or master's level degrees in the Schools of Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, and Medicine - Biomedical Sciences.
Students should arrive in their regalia at 1:00 pm at the Goldring Woldenberg Business Complex. Doors will open for guests at 1:00 pm. Tickets will NOT be required for entry.
Unified Commencement Ceremony
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Caesars Superdome
Student Arrival: 3:00 PM
Gates Open: 3:30 PM
The Unified Commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 16, 5:00 p.m. at the Caesars Superdome. At this special milestone ceremony, which will feature an academic procession, keynote speaker Sterling K. Brown, and live jazz, President Michael A. Fitts will officially confer degrees upon all Tulane University degree candidates (undergraduate, graduate, and professional). The Unified Commencement Ceremony lasts approximately 90 minutes. If you are considering dinner plans after the ceremony, we recommend allowing an additional 30 minutes for egress from the venue.
Tickets will be required for attendance at the Unified Commencement in the Caesars Superdome. Instructions for requesting tickets (up to 25 per graduate) will be shared in April via email and the Commencement website.
