The fellowship, named in honor of the Founding Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and his wife, provides a partial tuition scholarship for a graduate student. Although not stipulated, the award is generally for a BS-MS student who is entering the fifth year of study.
The award to honor outstanding service as a Teaching Assistant in Biomedical Engineering is sponsored by the student chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society, based on a vote of undergraduate students in Biomedical Engineering.
The award winner is selected by the Biomedical Engineering faculty based on nominations from faculty members that can highlight student achievement in scholarship, independent research, mentoring of fellow students, and/or leadership.
