Support Tulane's BME Design Outreach

For over 20 years, the students and the New Orleans community benefited enormously from the passion and intellect of Professor David Rice. Through his groundbreaking work in service learning he provided guidance of senior BME students’ design projects that aid individuals with disabilities.

We honored Professor Rice’s groundbreaking work by establishing an Endowed Fund in his honor. The fund was initiated through the generous donation of the Almar Foundation and allows BME students to conceptualize, design, fabricate and deliver devices for individuals with disabilities in the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan area. The income from the fund supports BME’s Team Design Program in perpetuity.

Biomedical engineering students were recently featured on CBS News for building mobility trainers for children with disabilities. If you would like to help support this project and other endeavors, please donate here.
