Volunteer with STEM NOLA - Saturday, September 13, 2025
STEM NOLA's "Water, Levees & the Environment" will be held at the Cut-Off Recreation Center in Algiers on September 13th. Volunteers are needed to guide K-12 students through interactive/hands-on STEM activities. There will be a free breakfast at 7:30am, and all volunteers will be released no later than 1:30p. Wear your Tulane shirt!
All college students that volunteer will receive:
- a $50 virtual VISA gift card
- the opportunity to meet and network with STEM professionals, and potential future employers
- up to 11 volunteer credit hours (for event and set up)
- a certificate or letter of completion
- and the opportunity to educate the future of STEM!

Congratulations to Yingu Wu! Under the direction of Dr. Shusheng Wang, Yinga successfully defended "Elucidating origins of m.yofibroblast and functional analysis of m.iR-24 in subretinal fibrosis" on July 30, 2025.
Congratulations to Apurva Gahankari and her advisor, Dr. Fenglei He! Apurva successfully defended her dissertation, "A novel mechanism underlying craniofacial development" on April 18, 2025.
