Research in the Tasker laboratory uses patch clamp electrophysiology, molecular biology, and genetic manipulations to study the circuit, electrical and molecular signaling of neurons and glia in the hypothalamus and amygdala, with the goal of understanding neurophysiological, neuroendocrine, and neuropathological mechanisms involved in stress, depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
