The NMR facility in the Chemistry Department houses three high resolution NMR (New Bruker Avance Neo 400, Varian Unity Inova 400 and Bruker Avance 300.)
In addition, the Department has full access to a Bruker 500 MHz NMR in the Coordinated Instrumentation Facility (CIF).
All the instruments are capable of collecting data for any nucleus from 109Ag to 31P as well as 1H and 19F, at temperature from -80 C to 150 C. The Bruker Avance 300 and Varian 400 are controlled by Linux Centos operating workstations, while the new Bruker Avance NEO 400 is controlled by Windows operating workstation. The latter can automatically acquire any randomly sequential- or batch 1D and 2D nmr data until to 24 samples and the workstation may be remotely controlled anywhere.
All workstations are networked making them easy to transfer data or finished spectra to students' lab computers for inclusion in reports, papers and dissertations. Mnova NMR PC software is fully access for all users. About 65 Faculty, staff and students from Tulane, Loyola and Xavier Universities use this facility.
