About Us

The Department of Computer Science at Tulane pairs a strong foundation in core computer science with its application across the sciences and engineering, the health and social sciences, and the humanities. Faculty and students work at the interface of computing and other disciplines, with the goal of earning national and international recognition for interdisciplinary research and preparing the next generation of computer scientists. Graduates have gone on to careers in computer science and related fields and to PhD programs at leading universities, and students and alumni have received best paper awards, Tulane’s Peery Medal, and fellowships from Google, Facebook, and the Computing Research Association. As the department continues to grow, it remains a close-knit community defined by collaboration and shared purpose.

Join undergraduate research initiatives in fields like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, Human-Computer Interaction, and more as early as your sophomore year.

With a low student-to-faculty ratio, our classes remain small, giving you the opportunity to get to know our renowned faculty and receive individualized attention. We also have a robust culture of student support and hire our own students to help their younger peers work through courses they have just mastered. This could one day be you!
