Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Undergraduate Minor
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Undergraduate Minor
The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology minor provides students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in ecological and evolutionary sciences and organismal biology. Our objective is to prepare Tulane graduates to be environmentally aware citizens with knowledge of global environmental challenges and their connections to cultural, social, and economic factors. Students pursuing this minor cannot also complete the minor in Marine Biology.

Curriculum Requirements
The minor totals 19-24 credit hours, built around the foundation course Diversity of Life with lab, three electives from a broad list of 2000-level EBIO courses, and two upper-level electives at or above the 3000-level (lab courses recommended). Students pursuing this minor cannot also complete the minor in Marine Biology.
FAQs
The minor gives students knowledge and skills in ecological and evolutionary sciences and organismal biology, preparing them to be environmentally aware citizens who understand global environmental challenges and their ties to cultural, social, and economic factors. It's a strong complement for students in adjacent science, policy, or pre-health fields who want a grounding in how living systems and environments interact.
If you are ready to declare a major/minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, please fill out this form, and submit it to the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
