Note. *Students must take either 6100 or 7424; Students must take either 7150 or 7430. Students may register for 9980 or 6610/11 (before the master’s thesis is defended) or 9990 (after the master’s thesis is defended) to maintain full-time status. Students must defend their preliminary exam in the spring of the year they are applying for internship and propose their dissertation in the fall before internship applications are submitted. Students may choose to spread their coursework over five years and complete internship in their sixth year. Because some courses are offered every other year, students’ curriculum sequence may be slightly different from this model.
