Biography
Dr. Marcus is a Professor of Practice in the Psychology Department at Tulane. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Tulane University, where she researched the roles of reward and familiarity in the self-face bias using behavioral, eye tracking and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) in the Learning and Brain Development Lab. Dr. Marcus then completed her postdoctoral research in the Social Memory Lab at Tulane University, where she investigated the roles of reward and familiarity in familiar identity representations using behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

Dr. Marcus is affiliated with the Social Memory Lab, led by Dr. Benjamin Deen. Her projects investigate how reward, familiarity, and social network structure influence familiar identity representations. Undergraduate or Master's students that are interested in working with Dr. Marcus can do so by applying to work in the Social Memory Lab.
