2025 Barbara Moely Service Learning Recipients Awarded

Last week, the Tulane Center for Public Service honored the 2025 recipients of the Barbara E. Moely Service Learning Teacher Award. The Moely Award is presented annually to professors who embrace exceptional dedication to bringing classrooms to life through engaged partnerships, reflecting Dr. Moely's decades-long devotion to bridge the university-community divide by training students across disciplines to become compassionate and culturally competent leaders.

This year's recipients are Tulane SSE's own Katherine Raymond, senior professor of practice and associate chair of biomedical engineering, and Aron Culotta, associate professor of computer science. These professors were acknowledged last week for their work in creating meaningful service learning activities, adapting to the needs of students and the community, and integrating community engagement into their teaching.
