Shepard Perrin

Shep is a 1983 graduate of Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity as well as Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. After graduation, Shep went to work for the Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge. With Ethyl he worked in R&D, Sales and Product Management. Shep stayed with specialty chemical manufacturer Albemarle after the split from Ethyl. In 1996 he went with Amoco in Chicago with the sale of his business unit and was on assignment in Geneva, Switzerland when BP purchased Amoco in 1999. Shep relocated to Houston in 2002 with the formation of the BP Solvay joint venture in polyethylene where he was the business manager. In 2005 INEOS acquired the chemical business of BP and Shep was named Procurement Manager of INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA. In early 2013, he became Business Manager, Polypropylene.  Shep is now Polymer Sales Director, North America for INEOS.  

Throughout his career Shep has served as an alumnus volunteer for the university in a number of ways. He was active in the formation of the Los Angeles chapter city of the Alumni Association in the mid ‘80s. He served as president of the Baton Rouge chapter of the Alumni Association in the mid ‘90s. He is currently an active member of the Houston Chapter City. Shep also served 2 terms on the national Alumni Association Board of Directors. Shep has served on the Department of Chemical Engineering Board of Advisors on two different occasions. He is currently serving his second term on the CBE BOA. In 2004, Shep was appointed to the Tulane School of Engineering Board of Advisors. He continued to serve on the board post Katrina with the formation of the School of Science and Engineering.  Shep served as President of the School of Science & Engineering Board of Advisors from 2016-2019. 

Shep is a 4th generation Tulanian. His father Shepard F. Perrin Jr. and grandfather Shepard Francis Perrin both graduated from the School of Engineering. Shep and his family founded the Shepard Francis Perrin Scholarship designated for the child or grandchild of a Tulane alumnus for study in the School of Science and Engineering.

Shep serves as both lead recruiter and executive sponsor for Tulane University at INEOS. Tulane is one of INEOS’ target universities for chemical engineering graduates and interns.  
In addition to his alumni volunteer work, Shep is active in his home community of Clear Lake, TX. Shep is a member of the Stewardship Committee at St Claire of Assisi Church.  He serves on the board of directors of Communities in Schools – Bay Area.  He is also president of his homeowner’s association board of directors. He enjoys playing golf, traveling and cooking with his wife of almost 28 years.

Shep is married to the former Yvonne Edell of New Orleans. They have three daughters Mathilde, Aimee and Celeste.
