Tulane senior and Maker Ninja Chase Schober, left, watches closely as first-year student Addie Duncan tightens a drill bit on a precision drill press at the MakerSpace. Schober was introducing Duncan to a variety of equipment in the facility as part of safety training needed to operate certain machines. Once trained, Duncan will be authorized to use the facility to develop her ideas into actual 3-D objects. Open to all Tulane affiliates, MakerSpace is located in the former machine shop on Engineering Road on the uptown campus.
