Biography

Jim Mahjoubian serves as Director of Communications, Marketing, and Events for the Tulane University School of Science and Engineering, where he leads strategic communications, marketing initiatives, digital engagement, storytelling, and signature events that advance the school's mission and visibility. His work focuses on connecting students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners through compelling stories, innovative marketing strategies, and meaningful experiences that showcase the impact of science and engineering.

Jim brings more than 20 years of experience spanning higher education, communications, media production, education, and organizational leadership. Before joining Tulane, he served as Chief Operating Officer at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center and as Chief Communications and Technology Officer at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo. Earlier in his career, he worked with Baltimore City Public Schools and Johns Hopkins University to develop nationally recognized youth media and storytelling programs that empowered students through film, journalism, and digital media.

He holds a Master of Education from Cabrini University and a Bachelor of Science in Television and Radio from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications. Throughout his career, Jim has remained committed to helping organizations tell their stories, build strong communities, and create opportunities for others to learn, connect, and thrive.
