M. Franz Vogt is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana. He has BS (1966) and MS (1971) degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University. During his career, he worked for Kaiser Aluminum between 1968 and 1988, and CII Carbon L.L.C. from 1988 until retiring in 2006 He is now a full-time consultant to CII Carbon specializing in raw material and product development.
He has 27 years of experience in carbon production and application in aluminum smelting, and he has one patent and has published 16 papers in this area.
