Dr. Joseph E. Wall is Senior Vice President, Engineering and Chief Technology Officer of Pitney Bowes, Inc. As the Corporate Officer with responsibility for Technology he oversees all R & D programs, the development of the engineering organizations, and the identification of product technology risks and opportunities. This work includes establishing strong partnerships with senior operating executives to shape the Company’s vision, strategy, and product and service offerings. He is also directly accountable for the Global Mailing Systems Engineering organization. The major new product development work in this organization is the complete product line of next generation, e-enabled meters and mailing machines for worldwide use.
Dr. Wall was previously the Vice President, Technology of Emerson, a diversified manufacturing company headquartered in St. Louis, MO. He joined in 1986 as Director of Research and Development for its Rosemount Aerospace Division. He was also with Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN from 1978 to 1896 and held positions of increasing responsibility at Honeywell, including section chief and senior principal research engineer. He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Tulane University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
