School of Science and Engineering 2020 Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony

The School of Science and Engineering will recognize August and December 2019 graduates and May 2020 science and engineering graduating seniors who participate in this ceremony.

The number of guests is not limited. Tickets are not required.

The ceremony will be streamed live and can be viewed on the SSE website homepage at http://www2.tulane.edu/sse/

3:00 PM – CHECK-IN, LINE UP, INSTRUCTIONS

  • Academic regalia (Cap & Gown) is required to participate in the ceremony.
  • Participating faculty and students report with academic regalia to the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life – Kendall Cram Lecture Hall, Tulane Uptown Campus to check-in, line-up and instructions.
  • Students will check in to pick up their “reader” card to present to the readers on stage.
  • Students will be lined up to march and be seated by their major and will process onto the stage by major to receive their diploma cases.
  • Students must be in line, ready to march NOT LATER than 3:30 p.m.
  • SSE Dean, Department Chairs and Program Directors will be on stage to congratulate the students.
  • Bottled water will be provided in the check-in area.
  • Food will NOT be provided in the check-in area. Please make sure you grab a bite to eat in between the Unified Ceremony and the SSE Ceremony.
  • There will NOT be a secure place to store personal items in the LBC line- up rooms, e.g. purses, cameras, shoes, etc. during the ceremony.
  • All physically challenged students or guests that need special accommodations should contact the Science and Engineering Event Planner, Candy Guedry (candy@tulane.edu).

3:00 p.m. – Devlin Fieldhouse Opens

3:45 p.m. – Guests should be seated in Devlin Fieldhouse; the procession begins shortly.

3:50 p.m. – Faculty and graduates will march in double lines from the LBC to the Devlin Fieldhouse for the ceremony.

4:00 p.m. – Ceremony begins with the procession.

~5:30 p.m. – Ceremony ends with the recessional. Guests are asked to remain seated until all graduates and faculty are out of the building.


Diplomas will be mailed by the Tulane Office of the Registrar


Photography

Photographs will be taken of the participating graduates during the ceremony. Candid Campus Photography, the School of Science and Engineering official undergraduate graduation ceremony photographer, will be on hand at the diploma ceremony to photograph graduates receiving their diploma covers. Photographs can be viewed and ordered within 48 hours after the ceremony at www.candidcampusphoto.com.

  • A proof order form will be sent out approximately 5 to 7 days following graduation. This form may be used to order official photographs by mail. For faster service, order online. Science and Engineering graduates should go to www.candidcampusphoto.com/tusse/ to pre-register in order to receive their proofs as quickly as possible following the diploma ceremony.
