Teachers of 3rd through 8th grade students are invited to participate in Tulane's online teacher professional development this spring!!
Thanks to the generosity of Shell and The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, we are offering an online teacher professional development.
February Workshop: Engineering Design – Choosing Relevant Problems Students Want to Solve
The workshop will take place on Saturday, February 12th from 9:00 - 11:30am Central. The workshop will include a 2.5-hour live session and 1-1.5 hours of on-your-own-time independent work during BEFORE and AFTER the workshop.
Teachers participating in the workshop will receive a $100 stipend upon completion of the PD. Teachers must participate in all parts of the workshop to be eligible for the stipend! Space is limited and preference is given to teachers from majority free or reduced lunch schools and teachers already in the classroom. There is a $20 refundable deposit that will be refunded to teachers upon completion of the PD.

October Workshop: Improving STEM Classroom Instruction: Sharing Hands-on, Minds-on STEM Resources and Grant Writing Assistance
The October Workshop will take place on Saturday, October 23rd from 9:00 am - 11:00 am Central. The workshop will also include 1-2 hours of on-your-own-time independent work during the week BEFORE the workshop.
November Workshop: Using Phenomena and Driving Questions to Foster Students' Engagement in Science
The November Workshop will take place on Saturday, November 13th from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm Central. The workshop will include a 3-hour live sessions and 1-2 hours of on-your-own-time independent work BEFORE and AFTER the workshop.
Teachers participating in the October workshop will receive a $75 stipend upon completion of the PD. Teachers participating in the November workshop will receive a $100 stipend upon completion of the PD. Teachers must participate in all parts of the workshop to be eligible for the stipend! Space is limited and preference is given to teachers from majority free or reduced lunch schools and teachers already in the classroom. There is a $20 refundable deposit that will be refunded to teachers upon completion of the PD.
