Summer Teacher PD

Teachers of 3rd through 8th grade students are invited to participate in Tulane's online teacher professional development this summer! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we are able to offer several, virtual teacher professional development workshops this summer, all with teacher stipends!

June 2020 PD
Registration is now CLOSED for June PD.
June 15 - June 19, 2020

Teachers of 3rd through 8th grade students are invited to participate in our online teacher professional development from June 15 – June 19, 2020. Special thank you to the generosity of Capital One, Shell, The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation and Chevron. We are offering an online teacher PD titled "Integrating Programming Language as an Approach to Integrating Science, Technology, Mathematics and Language Arts in the Classroom." This PD will be over the course of one week and will be 3 hours of live sessions (likely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings) and 6 hours of on-your-own-time independent or group work (total of 9 hours).

  • Participating teachers will receive a $200 stipend upon completion of the PD. Space is limited and preference is given to teachers from majority free or reduced lunch schools.
  • To register, please complete the registration form online here. There is a $20 deposit that will be refunded to teachers upon completion of the PD.

July 2020 PD

Teachers of 3rd through 8th grade students are invited to participate in Tulane's online teacher professional development this July! Thanks to the generosity of Capital One, Shell, The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, and Jean and Tom Brett, we are offering THREE virtual professional development workshops in July all with teacher stipends.

July 7th-8th - Grades 3-5 - *Registration for this PD is now full*

If you would like to join the waitlist for the Grades 3-5 PD, please sign up here.

  • We are offering a virtual teacher PD titled "Integrating Engineering Practices into your Science Curriculum: Grades 3-5." This PD will be over the course of two days and will be 2 hours of live sessions (likely each morning) and 4-5 hours of on-your-own-time independent or group work (total of 6-7 hours). Participating teachers will receive a $125 stipend upon completion of the PD. 
July 9th-10th - Grades 6-8 - *Registration for this PD is now full*

This PD will be over the course of one week and will be 3 hours of live sessions (likely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings) and 6-7 hours of on-your-own-time independent or group work (total of 9-10 hours). Participating teachers will receive a $200 stipend upon completion of the PD. 

Space is limited and preference is given to teachers from majority free or reduced lunch schools and teachers already slated to teach this fall. The registration is now open for Grades 3-5 PD and Grades 6-8 PD.
