Tulane Engineers Mark Transition Into the Profession at Annual Ring Ceremony
Tulane’s School of Science and Engineering celebrated the next generation of engineers during the 2026 Order of the Engineer ceremony, held May 13 in Paul Hall. The event brought together students, faculty, family members, alumni, and engineering leaders to recognize graduating students as they formally entered the profession.
During the ceremony, students took the Obligation of an Engineer, a public pledge emphasizing integrity, responsibility, professionalism, and service to society. Each participant received the Engineer’s Ring, worn on the working hand as a lifelong reminder of the ethical responsibilities carried by engineers throughout their careers.
The ceremony featured participation from faculty and engineering leaders across Tulane and the broader engineering community, including Hridesh Rajan; Michelle Sanchez; Michael Moore; Ryan Glasser; Julie Albert; Katherine Raymond; and Matt Barrios. The event also included support from Nick Musmeci of the Society of Tulane Engineers and David Gereighty of the Louisiana Engineering Society.
