Marie Dahleh Appointed Associate Dean for Online and Professional Programs

The Tulane University School of Science and Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marie Dahleh as Associate Dean for Online and Professional Programs. In this expanded leadership role, Dahleh will guide the strategic growth and development of the school’s master’s degrees, certificates, and professional programs, both online and in person.

Building on her previous work at SSE, Dahleh’s new portfolio includes ambitious goals to significantly increase student recruitment and enrollment, domestically and internationally, across Tulane’s professional programs. She will also continue to oversee curriculum development and student outcomes, working closely with faculty to ensure programs are not only rigorous and accessible but also aligned with evolving industry demands.

A key focus of Dahleh’s vision is enhancing student success. She aims to maintain an average 12–18 month time-to-degree completion for master’s students while expanding initiatives that support high-quality instruction and advising. “My goal is to facilitate the growth and success of the master's programs in collaboration with the faculty,” Dahleh said. “This work is vital to the growth of the technical workforce in this region.”

In addition to bolstering internal academic efforts, Dahleh plans to expand the school’s reach by cultivating strategic partnerships with industry, government, and academic institutions. These collaborations will create new pathways for experiential learning, internships, and career placements—helping to position Tulane graduates for success in today’s competitive job market.

Dahleh will also continue to serve as the school’s liaison to Tulane’s Office of Academic Excellence and Opportunity, further ensuring that student support services remain a cornerstone of the school’s professional offerings.

As the demand for flexible, skill-driven graduate education grows, Dahleh’s leadership will play a central role in shaping the next phase of Tulane SSE’s professional and online programs.
