A colleague cited Laura Rosanne Adderley's creative approach to teaching: “In her class last fall, she partnered with a Brazilian artist collective [brought to campus by the Center for Global Education]. The students learned about a runaway slave community in Brazil, and then created a mural about it with the collective … This innovative and hands-on approach is just one example of Professor Adderley’s ability to take advantage of Tulane and New Orleans’ resources” in her teaching.
, Meenakshi Vijayaraghavan has taught two of the largest core courses in her department. Students noted the difficulty of the assignments in her class, but praised the outcome: “Her afternoon lecture was the highlight of my day. Every moment of every class, late night study session, and test was an exhilarating experience,” wrote one. “She has changed how I study, how I think, and who I am. She’s given me opportunities no one else ever has, and most importantly she pushed me, and still does, to do the impossible. I have no other person to thank than ‘Dr. V’ for my success at Tulane.”
