Three BME Alums Recognized at 2023 SSE Alumni Awards Celebration

On April 13, 2023, the School of Science and Engineering held its annual Alumni Awards Celebration to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments and contributions of SSE graduates. Of the seven awards bestowed, including delayed 2020 recognitions, BME alums were presented with the following distinctions:
The 2020 Outstanding Alumna Award was presented to Parastoo Khoshakhlagh, PhD, who received her doctorate in Biomedical Engineering in 2015.
The 2020 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award was presented to David Lipps, PhD, who received his Biomedical Engineering BSE in 2007.
The 2023 Outstanding Service Alumnus Award was presented to Uwe Pontius, MD, PhD, who received his Biomedical Engineering BSE in 1968, Mechanical Engineering MS in 1971 and PhD in 1975, and Medicine MD in 1976.
