Commencement weekend is an opportunity for guests and graduates to celebrate the remarkable achievements of a student’s academic career at Tulane, and our commencement is unlike any other. Few classes in history have endured the level of disruption that the class of 2020 has experienced. As the first class in a century to graduate during a global pandemic, the opportunity to recognize and honor your academic accomplishments is on the horizon.

The Unified Commencement Ceremony honors the graduating students from all of the university's schools and colleges. It features the pomp and circumstance expected of a traditional commencement celebration with a New Orleans twist. At this ceremony, expect to see the procession of graduates and faculty, the conferral of degrees and hear live jazz.

This ceremony celebrates students who have achieved PhD or master's level degrees in the Schools of Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, and Medicine - Biomedical Sciences.
